Hot melt adhesive is available as tape and is designed to be used primarily in conjunction with heatshrinkable tubing and moulded shapes in order to provide sealant / adhesive action at the interface between the encapsulant and the substrate. The adhesive is a specially compounded blend of resins which melts below the shrinkage temperature of heat shrinkable polyolefin products (+135°C) and also bonds to the polyolefin surface and the wide variety of substrate surfaces to which it is applied, eg cable jackets, metal sheaths and connector back shells.
